·While the client is under debt review there is also a continues process that must be followed.
·The Debt Counsellor must follow-up on any unpaid and suspension reports received from the PDA to ensure the payment plan is maintained and/or amended timeously

oThe Debt counsellor must manage the payment plans. oThe Debt Counsellor can insert a re-strike of the unpaid debit order. oThe re-strike will duplicate the unpaid plan and allows for a specific date to be selected between the unpaid plan and the next period plan for the debit order re-strike to take place. oAn override allows the user to make changes to the payment plan. |

oThe Debt counsellor must check the payment plan before uploading the plan. oCheck the payment plan to ensure everything on the plan is correct before uploading the plan, this is extremely important to insure that payments and fees are allocated correctly according to the plan. oMake sure fees are showing on payment plan before uploading the payment plan. oMonitor payments of the client, this will allow the debt counsellor to maintain the Paid's and Unpaid's. |

oThe debt counsellor must also deal with suspensions. oThe debt counsellor must ensure that the correct data and information is sent to the PDA. oSuspensions at Hyphen happens when a debt counsellor upload a plan to Hyphen and the credit provider did not validate at Hyphen oAn account will also be suspended when a Credit Provider return monies to Hyphen PDA. This may occur due to various reasons and the Debt Counsellor must therefore contact the Credit Provider for more details.

oThe debt counsellor must also check the December action date. oThe December action date allows the debt counsellor to insert a date for December, so the plan will be changed to go off on a specific date for December. |
Obtaining Final Proof of Payment (Form 19)

oThe Debt counsellor must also print a clearance certificate or From 19.

oA debt counsellor must update the NCR Debt help constantly to keep the creditors and credit bureau informed. oAn invalid reference or an incorrect credit provider selected will result in suspension of the account and therefore no distributions will be made. oIt is one of the conditions of registration of debt Counsellors that they must regularly and continually update the NCR Debt help system on the progress of the debt review applications. oThe monitoring reports show that not all debt Counsellors are loading and updating the records on progress of application. oCredit providers have indicated that many consumers who are under debt counselling are not flagged at the Credit Bureaus which place considerable risk to credit providers and consumers and impact on the entire credit industry. oIt is a requirement in terms of the NCA, that all debt counsellors notify the bureaus when a client has applied for debt review.
